Hambledon Vineyard
Nestled in the heart of the Hampshire countryside in England. Hambledon Vineyard is a testament to the art and passion of English winemaking. As England's oldest commercial vineyard, Hambledon has a rich heritage and a commitment to excellence. This shines through in every bottle of their award winning sparkling wines.
Founded in 1952 by Major General Sir Guy Salisbury-Jones. Since then playing a pioneering role in the revival of English viticulture. Inspired by the chalky soils and favourable climate of the South Downs, similar to those of the Champagne region in France. Sir Guy planted the first vines with the vision of producing world-class wines on English soil.
The unique terroir of Hambledon Vineyard is key to the exceptional quality of its wines. The vineyard's chalky soil, gentle south-facing slopes, and cool climate create the perfect conditions for growing classic grape varieties. These include chardonnay, pinot noir, and pinot meunier. These elements combine to produce grapes with the ideal balance of acidity, flavour, and ripeness, essential for crafting outstanding English sparkling wines.
