Chateau Pichon Longueville Reserve De La Comtesse De Lalande Pauillac 2009 75cl
Chateau Pichon Longueville Reserve De La Comtesse De Lalande Pauillac
This red wine is a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Franc. Sweet on the nose with aromas of kirsch, damson plum, currents, violet, and a touch of graphite. Big and juicy on the palate with firm tannins. Flavours of forest floor, white chocolate, liquorice, blackcurrant, vanilla, and black cherry. A smoky, silky finish with a lingering minerality.
Perfect paired with rack of lamb, Gratin dauphinois, roasted vegetables, and hard mature cheese. Drink now until 2035.
The estate was founded in 1689 by Pierre de Mazure de Rauzan and the vineyard acquired its name a few years later when his daughter Therese received it as part of her dowry on her marriage to Jacques de Pichon Longueville, the first President of the Parliament of Bordeaux. It was divided upon the death of Baron Joseph in 1850 between his five children. The exceptional character of the wines produced here are distinguished by their elegance and finesse.
