La Reserve de Leoville Barton is the second wine from Chateau Leoville Barton, one of Saint-Julien’s most historic estates. Founded in 1826, the estate has remained in the Barton family, producing consistently high-quality Bordeaux for nearly two centuries. Its vineyards benefit from deep gravel soils on the left bank, optimised for Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and a touch of Cabernet Franc. Grapes are hand-harvested, vinified plot by plot and matured sixteen to eighteen months in French oak barrels.
- La Reserve de Leoville Barton opens with aromas of blackcurrant, cedar and violet.
- The palate shows black cherry, plum and graphite with poised acidity and polished tannins.
- The finish is savoury, lingering with tobacco, gentle spice and refined length.
