Chateau Montelena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

A powerful expression from one of Napa Valley’s most historically significant estates. Known globally since its breakthrough success in the 1976 Judgement of Paris, Montelena continues to produce Cabernet Sauvignon with a distinctly structured, age-worthy profile.

The 2006 vintage is built in a classic, firm style, combining ripe fruit intensity with savoury complexity. It is a wine that benefits significantly from aeration and time in the glass, gradually revealing its layered depth and refinement.

• Deep garnet with a dense core, showing only subtle signs of evolution at the rim. Complex and layered, with aromas of blackcurrant, dried cherry and plum supported by notes of baking spice, vanilla and crushed herbs. Subtle undertones of tobacco leaf, espresso and floral lavender emerge with air.
• Full-bodied and structured, delivering concentrated dark fruit alongside earthy spice, cocoa and savoury tobacco notes. Hints of anise, pepper and dried ginger add detail and lift across the mid-palate.
• Long and persistent, with a firm tannic framework and lingering notes of spice, dark fruit and mineral earthiness.
