Buffalo Trace is one of the most recognised names in American whiskey, distilled in Frankfort, Kentucky. The distillery has made bourbon on the same riverside ground for over two centuries. It sits on old buffalo migration paths, the traces that give the bottle its name.
This is the world's most award-winning distillery, and a National Historic Landmark since 2013. The bourbon is made with a traditional low-rye mash bill and aged in new charred American oak. Limestone-rich water and Kentucky and Indiana grains sit behind its rounded, easy-going style.
- The nose opens with toffee, vanilla and a touch of mint.
- The palate is smooth and rounded, with caramel, custard and warm cinnamon spice.
- It finishes gently, with brown sugar, orange peel and toasted oak.
