The first-ever whisky to be distilled and bottled in the West Midlands. These inaugural releases comprise of 5 unique bottlings which represent four family members of the West Midlands Distillery. The Matriarch is a landmark release from West Midlands Distillery - crafted from a blend of four single casks and presented in a striking hand-painted bottle within a custom display box that honours the Black Country and Birmingham.

Only 900 bottles have been released across these 5 limited editions.

Distilled from 100% English barley and matured in Bourbon, Oloroso Sherry, and Rum casks, this small-batch, single malt whisky offers depth, structure, and rich flavour, making it a standout addition to any collection - and an exceptional gift.

Bottled at 51.9% ABV, non-chill filtered, and made from 100% English barley.

• Rich and inviting on the nose, with caramel, spice, dried fruit, and a touch of tropical fruit and smoke.
• The palate blends vanilla and caramel from Bourbon casks with the spiced fruit depth of Oloroso, lifted by sweet tropical notes from Rum wood.
• A hint of subtle smoke lingers through the smooth, warming finish.

Released on 11th July 2025 to honour the birthday of the distillery’s late matriarch, this inaugural edition celebrates not only craftsmanship but also family legacy and regional pride. Each bottle is hand-finished, colour-coded by cask and flavour profile, and housed in a gift box that fans open to reveal a map of the West Midlands - the first whisky ever to be born from its soil.
