Founded in 1818 in the village of Mareuil-sur-Ay near Epernay, Billecart-Salmon Champagne remains family-owned, now run by Mathieu Roland-Billecart, representing the seventh generation following founders Nicolas-Francois Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon.
The house is renowned for its refined, delicate, and balanced Champagnes, crafted from grapes grown across 100 hectares of its own vineyards, with an additional 300 hectares sourced from trusted growers in the Champagne sub-regions of Montagne de Reims, Vallee de la Marne, and Cote des Blancs. Since 2019, the vineyards have been undergoing organic conversion, reflecting the house’s commitment to sustainability.
