La Grande Annee is the embodiment of the carefully preserved traditional expertise of the Bollinger Champagne House. The wine is therefore exclusively vinified in small, aged oak barrels. Champagne Bollinger has never abandoned this traditional method, which results in aromas of great finesse.
This unique expression of the 2014 vintage is a blend of 63% Pinot Noir and 37% Chardonnay from 19 crus, with the fruit coming exclusively from Grand Crus and Premier Crus. Mainly Ay and Verzenay for the Pinot Noir, and Chouilly and Oiry for the Chardonnay. The wine offers freshness and an extraordinary intensity due to its recent disgorgement, as well as the aromas of an old vintage which has been aged for more than 7 years in the heart of the Bollinger cellars in Ay.
This is a wonderful example of the Burgundy vinosity character at Bollinger. La Grande Annee Rose has been a part of the Bollinger stable since the beginning, it is a unique blend between a great vintage champagne and the still red wine from the legendary 4 hectare monopole of Cote aux Enfants.
