Toki Whisky Miso Sour Cocktail
The classic Whiskey Sour provides inspiration for countless cocktails as bartenders add to its constituent parts (whisky, citrus, sugar, egg white). In the case of the Miso Sour its ingredients include Japanese Whisky and incorporates yuzu. Yuzu is a citrus fruit with a tart flavour that’s like a combination of lemon, lime and orange, and miso has a mild umami flavour with a mellow, nutty sweetness.
Vessel: Mule mug
50ml Toki Whisky
25ml Lemon or Yuzu Juice
15ml 2:1 Sugar Syrup
Bar spoon White Miso
15ml Egg White or equivalent foaming agent
Add the ingredients into a shaker and dry-shake (without ice) vigorously for 10 seconds.
Add large ice cubes and shake again until well-chilled.
Strain into a chilled glass.
Garnish with ginger.
