Henriques & Henriques was founded on the island of Madeira in 1850 by Joao Joaquim Henriques, initiating the start of a rich history and a profound knowledge of the art of making Madeira.

They have been the benchmark of quality Madeira since 1850, Henriques & Henriques is one of the most famous names on the Portuguese island. Currently under the leadership of Master Blender, Humberto Jardím, it is the only House to have consistently owned vineyards in Madeira.

H&H Single Harvest Boal 2000: 2022 Decanter Platinum – 97 points
Enticing chocolate, mocha, praline and caramel aromatics. Pure, yet luxurious on the palate, with a long and spicy, dried fig finish. The high level of sugar is perfectly aligned with the fresh and vibrant acidity. A wine of great balance, concentration and complexity. Such purity and definition. Stunning!

‘Hints of chamomile and cucumber on the nose, with underlying caramel and sultana aromatics. Great elegance on the palate. Incredible balance on the palate with a beautiful freshness and extremely persistent spicy finish. A wonderfully complex wine at a lovely stage of its development. Remarkable!’

‘Muscovado sugar and hazelnuts on the nose with touches of leather and bursts of lemon peel on the palate. The fruit shines through with the appley acidity and sweetness perfectly aligned. A stunning example of an extensively aged Verdelho. Finishes lengthily too; a true classic.’

‘Heady leather and wood polish aromatics. The palate is full, sumptuous and complex with a wonderful age-derived tangy richness and lively notes of dark treacle, chocolate and leather. Engine oil green colour. Toasted walnut and hazelnut. Fresh cold tea, citrus peel, honey treacle, toffee caramel. Complex with a lovely balance between sweetness and acid.

Barley sugar and marmalade on a lovely broad palate, balanced with bright acidity. Lively floral notes too.
