Inglenook 1882 Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 75cl
Inglenook 1882 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, USA
1882 was the first vintage produced by Inglenook founder Gustave Niebaum. That same year, Niebaum dug a small cave into the Mayacamas foothills on the back property of the estate in his quest for optimal barrel aging conditions. This wine pays tribute to Niebaum, whose spirit of innovation and exploration continues to live on at Inglenook.
The Inglenook 1882 Cabernet Sauvignon is well structured, with excellent volume and fine dry tannins. Aged for 18 months in 15% new French oak and 85% neutral French and American oak.
Aromatic notes of blueberry and cassis with highlights of anise, savoury herbs, and red cherry. A solid core of dark fruit, including blackberries, plums and black cherries. Finely grained tannins enhance a complex, yet polished structure that finishes fresh and vibrant, with a hint of mocha.
Perfect paired with roast leg of lamb, braised pork shanks, grilled burgers and hard cheese.
