Chateau Ksara Cuvee De Printemps 2021
A fantastic alternative to Beaujolais from the oldest winery in the Bekaa Valley, Lebanon. The history of Chateau Ksara dates back to 1857.
The Bekaa Valley has a semi-continental hot climate, with cold winters and hot, dry summers. Therefore planting the vines at an average altitude of 1,000 meters. This balances the the hot summer days and the cool evenings. This helps the grapes to retain acidity and aromatics, giving freshness to the wines.
Blending the Cuvee de Printemps is the Gamay (the grape used in Beaujolais) and Tempranillo (the flagship grape of the wines of Rioja and Ribera del Duero in Spain).
- Like many of the wines of Beaujolais, the wine is made using semi-carbonic maceration
- This process gives the wine a lighter, fresher fruit character
- Expect aromas and flavours of violets, and red fruits
