This estate, founded in 1942, has risen to prominence by acquiring prime parcels of old vines. They own 65 hectares and cultivate all five varieties found in Jura. Now run by a young, dynamic winemaking team, they are committed to striking the right balance between tradition and modernity. All grapes are harvested by hand, and they are in conversion to organic viticulture.
The Domaine Rolet Vin Jaune, made from the Savagnin grape, is aged under flor for eight years. Only half of their Savagnin wine is kept for the Vin Jaune, the remainder is declassified into their Savagnin, Chardonnay blend. This is an exceptionally fresh, dry, nutty wine with considerable ageing potential. An excellent example of this unique, revered style of wine.
