Frederic Magnien Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes 2019 75cl
Frederic Magnien Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes
Frederic Magnien is quickly developing a reputation as one of the rising stars of Burgundy. He works out of his family Domaine in Morey-Saint-Denis. His approach is very much hands-off, he is committed to Biodynamic viticulture, and he ages a lot of his wines in clay amphorae.
Frederic finds that maturing his wines in clay amphorae, and fermenting with indigenous yeasts, further enhances the expression of terroir and purity of fruit in his wines.
This Chambolle-Musigny is from three different plots, each adding their own layer of depth and complexity to the final blend. These lieux-dits are Les Condemennes, Les Babillieres, and Les Danguerrins. The vines are 50 to 60 years old on average.
- A sleek, perfumed Pinot Noir with bright red berry fruit and underlying spice
- Drinking beautifully now, but it has the potential to develop over the course of the decade
- Pair Frederic Magnien Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes with white meats, mushrooms or game
