Quinta Do Noval vintage port 2018 is characterised by its purity of fruit and a fine, delicate quality and are only declared when a year produces a blend worthy of bearing this name. Only bottling 1,600 cases of the 2018 vintage.
- A wonderfully ripe, full and exuberant wine
- Spicy on the nose, with bitter chocolate and glimpses of blackberry and violet
- On the palate, mulberry, blackcurrant and blackberry, with hints of citrus
- A long, deep, spicy finish with plenty of very fine cocoa tannins, minerals and spice
Serve chilled, between 15 to 17 degrees Celsius. Perfect paired with a cheeseboard or dessert.
2018 saw heavy rainfall during the first part of the year, meaning that potential yields were low, however, the summer was hot and dry and was an excellent ripening period. The 2018 vintage port is exceptional, magnificently ripe with remarkable finesse.
A blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinto Cao and Sousao. The grapes were trodden by foot and then maceration in the lagares, traditional stone vats from the Quinta. Maturing then takes place for 18 months in wooden casks in air-conditioned cellars.
