Laphroaig 10 year old is the original Laphroaig, distilled the same way today as when Ian Hunter invented it more than 75 years ago. It is the foundation of all other Laphroaig expressions. In making this Scottish whisky, malted barley is dried over a peat fire. The smoke from this peat, found only on Islay, gives Laphroaig its particularly rich flavour.

Its distinctive flavour profile is crafted from malted barley, initially cold-smoked over peat fires, a technique mastered by only a select few distilleries. Following this, the grain is dried over the same smouldering embers before being laid out on our malt floor, overlooking the sea. The whisky matures gracefully over the course of a decade within ex-Bourbon barrels.
