Domaine P&M Jacquesson are one of the finest Domaines in Rully, owning 13 hectares of vines here, a further 5 in Mercurey, and some small holdings in Bouzeron. Today, the Domaine is run by Paul's children Marie and Pierre. Harvesting of the grapes is by hand.
La Barre is a 0.85ha Lieux-dits planted in 1992, named after the pointed nature of the rocks in the soil here.
After several days of cold maceration, fermentation is carried out over 2 to 3 months with very gentle extraction techniques. The wine is aged in barrel for 12 months, of which 15% is new oak. The wine is bottled unfiltered.
