Chateau Greysac Medoc 2019 75cl
Chateau Greysac Medoc
- Expect aromas and flavours of blackcurrant, red plums, cedar and stony minerality
- A medium-bodied wine with expertly integrated tannins and acidity
Chateau Greysac Medoc is the perfect match for a Sunday roast or mature cheeses.
Chateau Greysac is a 95 hectare estate. Planting vines on gravelly soils around the village of By, north of St Estephe. It has a high proportion of cabernet sauvignon plantings, around 50%, for an estate with a modest Medoc AC appellation. Planting 38% to merlot, 10% cabernet franc and 2% petit Verdot.
Previous owners include the likes of Georges Hereil and the Agnelli family (owners of Fiat and Ferrari). Since 2012 though, this much-loved estate is in the hand of Jean Guyon, who has invested heavily in improving the vineyards and winery.
Chateau Greysac is a consistently honest, traditional style of Bordeaux, with silky tannins and acidity. Recent expressions definitely lead with more seductive fruit than the wines did under previous owners, but the wines still brilliantly express the gravelly soils on which the vines are grown.
