Catena Alta Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 75cl
Catena Alta Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
Catena is a name synonymous with Argentinian wine. In 1902 original founder Nicola Catena, planted his first Malbec vineyard.
Nicolas Catena, grandson of Nicola, has pioneered planting at high altitude with many of the vineyards located at c. 5,000ft. This cool and arid climate in the foothills of the Andes has proved to be the perfect location for a range of single vineyard Malbecs, cabernets and chardonnays.
The Catena family cherishes its historic cabernet sauvignon vineyards in Agrelo and Tupungato, particularly for their age-ability and classic flavours. Sourcing Catena Alta cabernet sauvignon from Lot 3 of the La Piramide vineyard, Lot 2 of the Domingo vineyard, and Lot 2 of the Nicasia Vineyard.
The wine is fermented in barrels over the course of a month using wild yeasts. Before maturing in French oak for a further 18 months.
- Wine of great finesse and elegance
- Full bodied, with rich, dark, supremely concentrated cassis-scented black fruit and a warm, spicy finish
Catena Alta cabernet sauvignon 2018 is excellent with steaks, roast beef or, if you are feeling adventurous try haggis.
