The Antinori family have been producing wine in Tuscany for six centuries, and exporting it for four. The purchase of the Tignanello estate in 1900 marked the beginning of a remarkable period of expansion. Through judicious acquisition of vineyards and an uncanny knack for developing iconic wines, Antinori has become the pre-eminent wine producer of Tuscany, and arguably Italy.
Tignanello was the first Sangiovese to be aged in barriques. The first contemporary red wine blend with untraditional varieties (specifically cabernet). One of the first red wines in the Chianti Classico region that did not use white grapes. Tignanello is a milestone. Using a selection of Sangiovese, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc.
