Established in 1997, Kilikanoon came to life when winemaker and owner Kevin Mitchell acquired the Penwortham property in the charming Clare Valley of South Australia. With a lineage deeply rooted in grape growing, Kevin seized the opportunity to materialize his dream of building his own wine brand. His father, Mort Mitchell, a significant figure in the family's winemaking legacy, nurtured Kilikanoon's renowned Golden Hillside vineyards, notably Mort's Block, for over four decades. Kevin's lifelong immersion in these vineyards alongside his father profoundly shaped his appreciation for terroir and its influence on winemaking.
