A great addition to the gin shelf, Mermaid Gin is a beautiful and unique bottle design made at the Isle of Wight Distillery, the first and only distillery on the island.
The Isle of Wight signature gin was inspired by its lead botanical rock samphire, known locally as the kiss of the mermaid. This aromatic succulent clings to the cliffs surrounding the Island and marks the high tide line on its majestic beaches. Like the kiss of the mythical mermaid, saving sailors lost at sea, the rock samphire was a signal that shipwrecked sailors and smugglers were safe from the raging seas. Mermaid Gin has notes of zesty lemon underpinned by peppery spicy noted and a deep, well-rounded mouthfeel, enhanced with rock samphire in a long complex finish
Mermaid Gin is presented plastic free, as credited by A Plastic Planet and features a compostable tamper proof seal, biodegradable labels and natural cork stopper. By presenting Mermaid Gin in a plastic free package and supporting marine conservation projects, the Isle of Wight Distillery aims to preserve the environment of mermaids.
