Tres Picos Garnacha 2017/2018 75cl 15% ABV
This rich, hedonistic Garnacha from high up in the Alto Moncayo was rated by Robert Parker as one of the greatest value wines in the world.
The grapes are sourced from Borsao's oldest vines, up to 60 years old, planted on uneven clay and limestone soils at an altitude of 600-700 metres. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by a lengthy maceration on the skins and several months maturation in new French oak barrels.
The wine is deep cherry red in colour with a hint of purple. The nose is bright and floral and the palate rich and well-structured with flavours of blackberries, strawberries, leather, vanilla and a smoky burnt treacle tang.
Great with roast or grilled red meats.
