Ridge Vineyards Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 14% ABV
Ridge Vineyards Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Monte Bello Vineyard, Santa Cruz Mountains, California, USA
The Wines of Ridge Vineyards are timeless classics. A reputation earned through the application of simple principles. Great care and selective harvesting in the vineyard, minimal intervention in the winery, continual blind tasting, and complete transparency in their labelling.
Ridge Vineyards came to life when three research scientists from Stanford University bought the famous Monte Bello estate in 1959. Following the arrival of Standford philosophy graduate Paul Draper, Ridge Vineyards became increasingly focused on an environmentally sustainable, low intervention approach, becoming pioneers of a philosophy increasingly adopted around the world.
Having spent eighteen months in oak, Ridge Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a sensuous wine with great appeal that will be most enjoyable over the next twelve to eighteen years. A blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, and 1% Petit Verdot.
Saturated purple in colour with notes of black cherry, chai spice, chaparral and toasted oak. Bramble fruit on the palate with round, supple tannins, herbal forest character, and a long finish.
Perfect paired with lamb meatloaf, sausages, pan roasted rack of lamb, and vegetarian pizza.
