Malbec has recently overtaken Cabernet Sauvignon as the 3rd most purchased red grape variety in the UK, and is easily the most purchased red grape at the Secret Bottle Shop. The grape is known for the bold, spicy yet very smooth reds from Argentina’s Mendoza area, but it actually originates from South-West France and is still widely planted in Cahors.
Our own selection features several from the Mendoza - including the premium, 91pt Hermandad Malbec – a Cahors classic, and something more leftfield in the Vinaceous Voodoo Moon Malbec from Margaret River, Australia.
