Laurent Perrier Alexandra Rose Champagne 2004 75cl In Wooden Gift Box
Bernard de Nonancourt took the opportunity of his elder daughter Alexandra's marriage in 1987 to create this vintage Rosé champagne, which expresses the very highest standards of the House.
A delicate, pale salmon pink colour, reminiscent of a winter's sunset with a fine bead. A complex and well-balanced nose that is reminiscent of orange peel and small red berry fruit. There are some lingering hints of yellow stone fruit such as peaches and apricots and it finishes with subtle mineral aromas. Full-bodied from the start, with clear flavours of black cherries. Powerful and long-lasting, with a finish that combines ripe red fruit with a firm grip.
Laurent-Perrier, which also produces the benchmark non-vintage Cuvee Rosé champagne, was destined to produce a luxury Cuvee Rosé, an exclusive and rare wine which occupies a unique niche in its range. Produced in very small quantities, only seven Alexandra Rosé vintages have been made. This unique prestige cuvee rosé is only created in years when the Grand Cru grapes of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay reach maturity at the same time. The pioneering soak-on-the-skins maceration process applied to Cuvée Rosé is utilised again, with 20% Chardonnay being added during the Pinot Noir maceration for Alexandra Rosé. Aged for at least eight years, Laurent-Perrier's premium Vintage Cuvee Rosé is like no other champagne and is the outcome of a deliberately innovative approach to winemaking.
To do full justice to its rarity, Alexandra Rosé is presented in a majestically refined bottle with a label decorated in powdered gold.
