Errazuriz MAX Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon, Aconcagua Valley, Chile

Errazuriz was founded in 1870 by Don Maximiano Errazuriz and the Max wines are named in his honour.

The grapes from this Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon primarily come from the Max vineyards in the Aconcagua Valley. Located in the interior of the valley, the vineyard soils have a predominantly silty texture and are of colluvial origin. The special conditions of nutrition and drainage of the diverse soils help control plant vigour, producing balanced fruit loads with small bunches and berries.

The grapes were handpicked, sorted, destemmed, crushed and placed in open top stainless-steel tanks for fermentation. They were macerated for 18-25 days and then kept in French oak barrels, 25% of them new. After 12 months of aging, the result is an extremely elegant wine with aromas of fresh red berries, complemented by warming sweet spices, such as nutmeg and cinnamon, and velvety tannins.

Blend: 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot
