Domaine Pietri-Géraud Banyuls Rouge 'Cuvée Joseph Géraud' 2011 75cl 17% ABV

£26.95
A classic Banyuls made using grapes from vines that are 40-100 years old (90% Grenache, 10% Carignan).
After fortification, this wine is aged in concrete vats for 7 years to allow the wine to develop before release.
The colour is deep ruby turning brick brown around the rim. The nose is intense with a perfume of roasted coffeee, walnut, tobacco, prune and dark chocolate. The same aromas carry through onto the palate with a velvety texture and luxurious sweetness.
A balanced, warming red dessert wine that pairs beautifully with chocolate-based desserts, dried fruits, fruit cake, nutty tarts, blue cheese and mature cheeses.
