Chateau Clarke by Edmond de Rothschild Listrac-Medoc, Bordeaux, France
Chateau Clarke takes its name from the Irish family who bought the estate in 1771 and was acquired by Baron Edmond de Rothschild in 1973. The vineyard is planted with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon vines, which were replanted soon after Baron Edmond acquired the Chateau.
Chateau Clarke 2010 has a beautiful crimson colour with a deep purple rim. Intense aromas of blackcurrant, cherry, and plum, with a hint of vanilla and clove. The palate is fleshy and rich with generous fruit and fine dense tannins, the signature of a great vintage. A strong natural acidity reinforces the freshness and provides a nice persistence.
Perfect paired with classic meat dishes, tuna, pasta dishes, mushrooms, and cheese. Drink from 2025-2030. Decant one hour before serving.
