Light, delicate, and a remarkably easy tequila, Casamigos Anejo is as soft and understated on the nose as the Casamigos Blanco and Reposado. The anejo has roasted agave combined with caramel, cocoa powder, salt, white pepper, bell pepper, and a touch of oak. On the palate the Casamigos Anejo is light and delicate with soft, sweet roasted agave combined with light white pepper, toffee, chocolate, salt, and a touch of oak to the mix. The oak here is fairly restrained and it adds more of a tannic, drying quality to this tequila over spice. The white pepper spice drives the finish which is medium, light, dry and clean. Dangerously drinkable, Casamigos Anejo Tequila is very much a gateway tequila, a perfect spot for folks who many never have considered sipping their tequila straight to start. Diehard tequila aficionados will surely scoff at Casamigos' light and delicate style, but we think it will strongly resonate with the larger population of drinkers.
