Award winning English Gin produced by the Cambridge Distillery. The first in the world to combine quintessential juniper notes with traditional Japanese botanicals for an incredibly fresh, crisp flavour with an oriental twist.
The gin flavour base comes from organic, hand harvested Juniper, the additional botanicals include Shiso leaf - a beautiful culinary herb from Japan, often used for seasoning. Sesame seeds feature strongly in Japanese cooking and this gin uses a roasted white seed which offers a smooth, nutty profile. Cucumber is a popular ingredient in both sushi and gin and here fresh cucumber’s character is captured by distilling it at low temperatures under vacuum. There is also SanshÅ« - a spice with a distinctive and broad flavour, playing the role of the earthy, root botanicals commonly found in London Dry Gin. And finally the clean, crisp citrus character is provided by Yuzu, this has an aromatic zest, often used in place of lemon zest in Japanese cuisine. It plays exactly the same role in Japanese Gin.
