Every so often, small parcels of extraordinary grapes capture the soul of their unique vineyard origins and transcend the mere science of routine winemaking practice, deserving exciting exploration and experimentation in the Bellingham cellar.
This multi-faceted wine is an original composition of Malbec, Merlot and Mourvèdre seldom found together as a blend, but a fascinating enigma rising from the gutsy artistry of the winemaker. Sumptuous yet svelte with a core of intense blackcurrants and soft pastille cherry fruit, savoury earthy edges and all spice intrigue cradled by well tethered gentle oak all in perfect unity on an overtly fruity, complex, softly textured fresh finish.
Malbec, Merlot and Mourvèdre grapes are naturally fermented separately in open barrels liberating individual traits and origin and variety. THey are blended before maturation in big French oak barrels respecting the natural varietal character. Only 10 barrels produced this vintage.
