The Armand de Brignac “Ace of Spades” Brut Gold has been referred to as “The greatest champagne in the world” - rated No. 1 in the world in a blind taste test of 1,000 Champagne brands.
Presented in Armand de Brignac's ornate, black lacquered wooden box in the distinctive Gold bottle, it is a blend of the grape varieties Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, making use of only Premier Cru and Grand Cru-rated grapes from only the finest vineyards in La Marne.
Marvellously complex and full-bodied, its bouquet is both fresh and lively, with light floral notes. On the palate, the Non Vintage Brut Gold has a sumptuous, racy fruit character perfectly integrated with the wine's subtle brioche accents. The Champagne's texture is deliciously creamy, with great depth paired with a long, silky finish.
Armand de Brignac first gained worldwide visibility in the music video for the Jay-Z song "Show Me What You Got", which debuted in late October, 2006, and featured Jay-Z being presented with the distinctive gold bottle in a silver briefcase.
Jay-Z had previously featured Cristal in his videos, but had recently started to boycott this brand. Two days after the release of the video, Cattier (trading as Armand de Brignac) issued a press release identifying themselves as the brand in question (in partnership with Sovereign brands). On November 5, 2014 it was announced that a new company led by Jay-Z acquired Armand de Brignac Champagne from Sovereign Brands.
