A blend of Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro. A nose of bright red raspberry and cherry with red liquorice and ground sweet spices. There are underlying, more complex earthy notes with dark chocolate and black pepper. Beautifully balanced with fine grained tannins, the blood orange acidity carries a long and velvety finish.
The grapes are sourced from the Rocky Road vineyard in the southern part of the Margaret River. The vineyard lies on free draining moderately fertile soils that restrict the growth of these normally vigorous varieties. Vineyard management embraces sustainable 'Old School' practices that mark a return to methods that were commonly used before the rise of modern, large scale agriculture.
