Lapostolle Cuvée Alexandre Pinot Noir 2017 75cl 13.5% ABV
Lapostolle Cuvée Alexandre Pinot Noir 2017
This Red Wine has intense aromas of red berries and spices, with vanilla and rose complexity. Medium-bodied with a firm Pinot structure, this is long and aromatic in the mouth.
Lapostolle is owned by the Marnier-Lapostolle family (of Grand Marnier fame), and since the winerys foundation in 1994 has pursued an uncompromising approach to quality. Their objective is simple as it is ambitious: to create world-class wines using French expertise and the superb terroir of Chile.
The grapes for this single vineyard wine are sourced exclusively from the Atalayas Vineyard in the Casablanca Valley. Its rolling hills offer steep exposures which are the source of an array of mesoclimates. The vineyard is located on slopes facing various directions.
Eighty five percent of the grapes underwent optical bunch selection, followed by wild yeast fermentation in small tanks. The remaining fifteen percent underwent carbonic maceration in French oak barrels. Following malolactic fermentation in wood, the wine was aged in medium-toast French oak barrels (twenty-one percent new) for eleven months.
