The weather pattern leading up to the 2016 harvest was unusual meaning that ripening was gradual, contributing to this exceptional quality port. Cool nights meant long, well-balanced fermentations and gentle extraction.
An open nose of pure black fruits such as cassis, cherries and blackberries. Undertones of ripe, tropical fruit and hints of mint and violet lift both the fragrance and the palate. The palate shows vibrant acidity, taut tannins and great structure, texture and volume.
A finely crafted and perfectly balanced vintage port awarded 98 by James Suckling, 17.5+ by Jancis Robinson and 18.5 by Matthew Jukes.
